Hi! I am Alex Zapata, an American painter and Illustrator from NYC, New York. I have a background in book design and photography, but started painting full time four years ago when I moved to Houston, TX. I work in a minimal style and favor portraits.
Recent public campaigns include a combination of bulletins, Eco-posters, and electronic billboards, in partnership between the Center for Mexican American Studies at the University of Houston. Along with a site specific installation in collaboration with UP art studio and Downtown Houston part of the district’s art blocks program.
